1. What Second Opinion is
Second Opinion ("we," "us") operates a marketplace that connects vehicle owners with independent, ASE-certified mechanics who review auto repair estimates. We are a marketplace and information service. We are not a repair shop, we do not perform repairs, and we are not a party to any transaction between you and a repair shop.
2. Opinions only — no professional advice
A review reflects the independent professional opinion of the reviewing mechanic based on the information you provide. It is not a physical inspection of your vehicle, a guarantee of pricing, or legal, financial, or safety advice. You are solely responsible for decisions you make about your vehicle. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we and our reviewers are not liable for any recommendation, decision, or outcome arising from a review.
3. Payment and refunds
Reviews are billed at the price shown at checkout. If we do not deliver your completed review within 48 hours of successful payment, you are entitled to a full refund. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your full card details.
4. User conduct
You agree to provide accurate information, to use the service only for lawful purposes, and not to misuse, resell, or attempt to disrupt the service. You retain ownership of the estimate materials you upload and grant us a limited license to use them solely to provide your review.
5. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California.
