Terms of Service

1. What Quote Guide is

Quote Guide ("we," "us") operates a marketplace that connects vehicle owners with independent, ASE-certified mechanics who review auto repair estimates. We are a marketplace and information service. We are not a repair shop, we do not perform repairs, and we are not a party to any transaction between you and a repair shop. Reviewing mechanics are independent contractors, not our employees or agents.

2. Opinions only — no professional advice

A review reflects the independent professional opinion of the reviewing mechanic based solely on the information you provide. It is not a physical inspection of your vehicle, a guarantee of pricing, or legal, financial, or safety advice. Pricing ranges are estimates and vary by region, shop, and parts availability. You are solely responsible for decisions you make about your vehicle, including whether to authorize, decline, or defer any repair.

A review is only as accurate as the information you submit. If your estimate is incomplete, illegible, or omits work the shop intends to perform, the review may not reflect your actual situation.

3. Payment and refunds

Reviews are billed at the price shown at checkout. If we do not deliver your completed review within 48 hours of successful payment, you are entitled to a full refund. To request one, contact us at the address below. Refunds are returned to the original payment method and typically settle within five to ten business days, depending on your bank.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card details. Because a review is a service delivered on completion, we do not otherwise offer refunds for a review that has been delivered, except where required by law.

4. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE AND ALL REVIEWS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any review will produce a particular savings, outcome, or result.

5. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither we nor our reviewing mechanics are liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any lost savings, lost profits, vehicle damage, or repair costs arising from your use of the service or from any recommendation, decision, or outcome connected to a review.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the review giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

6. User conduct

You agree to provide accurate information, to use the service only for lawful purposes, and not to misuse, resell, scrape, or attempt to disrupt the service. You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use the service.

You retain ownership of the estimate materials you upload and grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and share them with the reviewing mechanic solely to provide your review. You confirm you have the right to share any document you upload.

7. Account termination

You may stop using the service and request deletion of your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these Terms, submits fraudulent information, or abuses the refund policy. If we terminate your account for reasons other than a breach by you, we will refund any review you have paid for but not yet received.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above. Material changes will be announced by email or by a notice in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Terms.

9. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

Before filing a claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue directly. Nothing here prevents either party from bringing a qualifying claim in small claims court.
