Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

We collect the information you provide to use the service, including your name and email address, your vehicle details (year, make, model, mileage), your city and state, the repair estimate and shop information you enter, and any photos or PDF files of estimates you upload. We also record account and transaction metadata such as submission timestamps, review status, and payment identifiers returned by Stripe.

We do not collect or store your full payment card details at any point. Those go directly to Stripe.

2. How we use it

We use your information to create your account, deliver your estimate review, process payment, send you service-related email, and operate and improve the service. We share the contents of your submission with the ASE-certified mechanic assigned to review it. That mechanic sees your vehicle and estimate details; they do not receive your email address or payment information.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or share it with advertisers.

3. Third-party services

We share information with vendors only as needed to run the service:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and secure file storage.
• Stripe — payment processing. Card details are handled by Stripe, not stored by us.
• Resend — sending transactional email.
• Vercel — application hosting and delivery.

4. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies that are strictly necessary to run the service — principally to keep you signed in and to keep your session secure. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not run third-party analytics or tracking pixels. Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in.

Do Not Track. Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common industry standard for interpreting one, and because we do not track you across other websites or over time, we do not respond to these signals differently — there is no cross-site tracking here to switch off.

We do not allow third parties to collect personally identifiable information about your online activities across different websites when you use our service.

5. Data retention

We retain your submissions, reviews, and account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. Records tied to a completed payment are generally kept for seven years to satisfy tax and accounting requirements, even if you delete your account. You may request deletion at any time.

6. Security

Uploaded estimate files are stored in a private, non-public bucket and are readable only by you and by the mechanic assigned to your review. Data is encrypted in transit, and access to production systems is limited. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will notify affected users promptly if a breach affects their personal information.

7. Your right to delete

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting support. We will delete or de-identify your data except where we are required to retain it by law, as described under Data retention.

8. California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request access to or deletion of that information, to correct inaccurate information, to limit the use of sensitive personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

In the past twelve months we have collected the following categories of personal information, in every case directly from you, and for the business purposes described above:

• Identifiers — name, email address.
• Commercial information — reviews purchased and payment records.
• Geolocation (coarse) — the city and state you enter for regional pricing.
• Other information you provide — vehicle details and uploaded estimate files.

We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below. We will verify your request using the email address on your account.

9. Children

The service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above, and we will notify you by email before any material change takes effect.
